D. Michael’s Oman Photos

I was going through my Oman photos recently and they spiked a number of thoughts. Firstly, Oman is insanely beautiful, and I am so lucky to be living here. Secondly, most of the images below are captured in remote places, requiring a bit of effort or planning to visit. Thirdly, I need more time to get to all the places I want to visit.

Here are just a few of my favorite images to whet your appetite while you plan your travels in Oman.

I like what I call,my Oman, meaning not the modern one,but the ancient with the old walls and doors, charming with the sun playing an intricate design of lights and shadows. My favourite places to show my guests when I was in Tourism business.I find the old ,with all the ravishings of time, extremely interesting and revealing the past times.

I visited Oman a few years ago, and I must say, I enjoyed the “old” Oman.. the countryside is awesome. I saw old houses made from clay, the historical sites and the majestic Mosque. I wish to return soon…

    Hi Mike

Today, I was surfing the Net looking for TAFL (Teaching Arabic as a Foreign Language) and what a lovely luck! I came across your blog. what I liked most about your Podcasts is the simplicity, spontaneity and humour. You’re doing a wonderful job, man!

I need to talk to you privately, we may have some future collaboration.

    Bravo & best regards.

Love all your photos. I worked in Oman 1992 to 95 and have visited many times since. Absolutely love the country. Sadly all my friends from there have left which makes going back more difficuly and expensive. I used to stay at al Khoud nurses residence. Worked for Armed forces hospital. But not to be deterred, I am planning a solo trip end of year.
Wouldn’t mind meeting up for a coffee ect.

Hi Mary, thanks for the message. I think you will find a huge change since the 90’s, yet don’t let that dissuade you from coming for a visit. It’s still a beautiful and exciting country. I would love to meet up. Hit me up using the contact page and we can try to work it out.
